I followed two video tutorials already and this happened in both methods

I'm working on my first big lace pattern. And I'm confused as all get out. The pattern says

k3, yo, k4, (k1, yo, sl1, k2tog, psso, yo, k3) 5 times, k2, yo, k3The problem I'm having is when I get to the yo, sl1. It seems like when I yarn over, and then sl1 (you slip purlwise, right?) I lose the yo when I k2tog, and it winds up decreasing instead ( Read more... )

 Foxdiva9 back again. I finished the other pull over and it didn't fit. I'm re-seaming it and giving it to my sister-in-law.
But now my mother's day gift is off track.

On Saturday I finished knitting the Dreamy Shrug, using Knit Picks Wool of the Andes (in sapphire heather - gorgeous color!). Last night I very gently washed it in my sink, using lukewarm water and a bit of dish detergent, and spread it out on a towel to dry. So I just knitted 2 RIGHT mittens. Q$%&! I wanted one for myself but not like this. I was following the directions which said knit as right mitten until the gusset but got to the gusset and forgot to switch to the left instructions. I was scared to frog back, it had been one of those days. *Sigh*
